Caw & Order: Feathered Justice

About The Game

Caw & Order: Feathered Justice is a 3D interactive-fiction game developed in Unreal Engine 5.2. This was the Level 3 year 2 final major project of my games design course at South Gloucestershire & Stroud College (Stroud Campus), with me assigned as the lead programmer, working on most of the narrative design of the game as a side-role.

We were given 3 themes to choose from; metamorphosis, deception and threshold. We chose the theme of deception, designing the project with the goal of making a small, yet engaging gameplay experience in 12 weeks.

A murder of crows hidden in a trench coat has stolen a shiny object of unknown origin. This has landed them in trouble with the police, which must be convinced that they are just an innocent human!

Use the crows at your disposal to locate clues hidden around the interrogation room, getting a leg up over the officers questions. Be careful not to answer the questions wrong though, as this will arise suspicion! Your overall score is evaluated at the end of the questioning, only allowing you to go free if you answered the questions convincingly enough.

How To Play

Captured by the police, you must answer their questions as convincingly as possible, in order to avoid being discovered as a bunch of crows hidden in a trench coat, guaranteeing imprisonment.

When playing as the crow, you must move around, collecting as many pieces of paper as possible, as evidence in the questioning. Be warned though, you only have a few seconds to return to the trench coat before you are caught! When playing as the trench coat of crows, you can cycle through your replies on the desk, only confirming your choice when completely sure.

There are 3 replies given as standard. One is good, one is bad and the other is neutral. The pieces of paper picked up in the opening sequence can be used as your reply when relevant to gain extra points, but will lose you extra points when used wrong!
